Can I Take Your Photo

Being the ravenous mountain biker that I am, I drove up to Big Bear Lake to be at the opening day of Snow Summit Bike Park this year. Something I have wanted to do for a while is post up at a cool spot with a sign that says “Can I Take Your Photo?” This is the first time I decided to try it out in the world. The bike park felt like it would be a good place for this. I know the culture, and actually know a few of the people that stopped by for a photo. I also figured people in their mountain bike kit would make for some cool photos, which it did!

This is something I plan on continuing to do at various places and events around the Southern California area. As well as every time I go to the bike park.

Ryan + Esther - Battello Wedding

Ryan an I go way back, He was my barber for 8 years before I moved to Southern California. I knew his & Esther’s wedding would be an absolute blast, It certainly did not disappoint. Beautiful location overlooking Manhattan, gorgeous ceremony, amazing food, and a packed dance floor. Couldn’t have been a better day.

New Orleans Wedding - Nikki & Claudio

It’s difficult to describe Nikki & Claudio’s wedding in just a few paragraphs. I have known Nikki and her family for years, I photographed her brother’s wedding, I photographed her best friend’s wedding, I photographed her brother’s band on many occasions! I also photographed a micro wedding for Nikki and Claudio in 2020, so I knew all of Claudio’s family at this point too! Getting to spend a few days in New Orleans celebrating with so many friends was incredible. And Nikki and Claudio being who they are threw one of the best parties I’ve ever been to in 15 years of wedding photography. They also organized a second line right after their ceremony through the streets of NOLA, which is one of the coolest experiences of my life. This was such an incredible wedding!

Tree Farm Wedding - Miriam & Bobby

I take it as the highest compliment when other artists trust you to make art for them. Miriam and Bobby are both artists, Miriam is a professional photo editor and Bobby is one of the best tattoo artists in the world (seriously) so, it was no surprise they had an absolutely gorgeous tree farm wedding.

Now that I have relocated to southern California, I am really looking forward to photographing more unique, artistic weddings in the San Diego area.

Amie & Dan - Wedding at The Carriage House

Dan & Amie found me in the completely normal way, Dan’s brother Tim is a former wedding photographer who was in a forum with me when I was starting out about 14 years ago. Pretty much how I meet all my clients.

Dan & Amie’s wedding was stunning, a ton of fun, and their dog made an appearance, and any wedding with a dog is a good one. Since Dan & Amie chose not to see each other before their ceremony, it allowed me to do one of of my favorite tricks, “The Impossible Wedding Party Photo” (patent not pending) I’ll spare you the technical details, but I can photograph each side of the wedding party separately and make it look like one cohesive image. It’s the one at the bar.
